Golden Nuggets: Getting Ready For The Pack

The Niners return home from a forgettable road trip to face the 3-0 Green Bay Packers. If the last 2 weeks are any indication, the Niners are going to be in for a long game. An added element to the game is always the story of Aaron Rodgers thinking he was going to be drafted by the Niners and instead, they passed on him to take Alex Smith. Since that draft, Aaron has had extra motivation to beat the Niners anytime they play. Recently, the Niners have had the Packers number.

Other than Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers may be the best QB in the league right now. On Monday night football, he threw for 5 touchdowns against a pretty good Chiefs defense. With the Niners defense having issues against Big Ben and Carson Palmer, Aaron Rodgers could have a field day. He is extremely accurate, very mobile, and a smart player. The key for the Niners will be to get pressure, which they haven't been able to do the last 2 weeks. Hopefully returning home will spark them to play better.

If there is one person who may be happy to see the Green Bay Packers come to town, it may be the guy who had his worst game ever last week. Colin Kaepernick has had his way with the Green Bay Packers. He has beaten the Packers twice in the playoffs. It may help his confidence to play a team he has success against. He needs to regain his confidence quickly because time may be running out for him. With Jim Harbaugh gone, he lost the coach that gave him the starting job. And with his contract being non-guaranteed, it will not be hard for the Niners to give up on him with no money attached.
