The San Francisco 49ers return to the practice field on Wednesday for Green Bay Packers preparations, and they will welcome back running back Reggie Bush. Head coach Jim Tomsula said Bush would return to practice in limited fashion. The first injury report will be released Wednesday afternoon, with two more to come on Thursday and Friday.
He has been listed as a DNP the last six practices (over two weeks), and inactive the last two games. Tomsula said last Friday that Bush was making good progress, but if he was not 100 percent, he would not play. Although Bush will be listed as limited, it is still a big step forward. This certainly does not guarantee he will play on Sunday, but it is a strong indication he will be able to play. My guess is he ends up listed as questionable, and then is active on Sunday.
Getting Bush back would be a nice little addition to the offense. He brings valuable experience as a receiving weapon out of the backfield. The offensive line needs to hold up, and Kap needs to find him, but if Bush is in the backfield this weekend, it could at least provide a bit of a change-up for the passing game. Maybe that improves something.
