Arizona Cardinals trade for QB Matt Barkley

The NFC West has added a new backup quarterback! The Arizona Cardinals made a trade on Friday, dealing a conditional draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Matt Barkley. Reports indicate it is a seventh round pick, on the condition that Barkley is on the Cardinals roster for at least six games. This move could mean Tim Tebow sticks around in Philadelphia, but also could spell the end of Logan Thomas's time in Arizona.

The NFC West backup quarterback situation looks like this following trade:

49ers: Blaine Gabbert, Dylan Thompson
Cardinals: Drew Stanton, Matt Barkley, Logan Thomas, Phillip Sims
Rams: Case Keenum, Austin Davis, Sean Mannion
Seahawks: Tarvaris Jackson, R.J. Archer

Gabbert looked fairly effective in three preseason games. But in terms of overall depth behind the starter, I'd probably lean toward the Cardinals. Stanton is a capable backup, and Barkley has had a solid training camp and preseason. If you are getting down to your third string quarterback, things have probably gone horribly wrong, but it's nice to have some kind of options back there.

Who would you say has the best reserve of quarterbacks at this point?
