Fanduel prices for 49ers-Rams in Week 17

Breaking down FanDuel prices for the 49ers & Rams in Week 17.

The San Francisco 49ers bring their season to an end with a home game against Todd Gurley and the St. Louis Rams. It's been a disappointing season for the Niners in reality and fantasy, but at least there are a few interesting FanDuel plays to end the season on a good note.

Blaine Gabbert $6000 Down $100

He should enter 2016 as the starter, but he needs to show improvement to prove he can be a competent placeholder. He won't be a recommended streamer this week, but for $300 more you can roll with AJ McCarron vs. the Ravens.

Anquan Boldin: $5800 Down $100

This could be his last game in a 49er uniform and he'll want to show he still has enough gas for another season. His targets aren't a worry, but the offense as a whole certainly is. For $5700 you can invest in Stefon Diggs or Dorial Green-Beckham, both with better matchups and upside.

Torrey Smith: $5500 No Change

I'll get straight to the alternatives. James Jones for the same price or dig deeper for Corey Brown at $5400

49er Running Backs

As of writing this the only San Francisco running back available is Kendall Gaskins ($4900) and he wasn't really involved in the offense last week. Don't shed a tear, even if DuJuan Harris or Jared Hayne were available neither would be a good play against St. Louis.

Vance McDonald $4600

He played well for fantasy purposes last week and he could hit again since the Rams aren't great at covering tight ends. I'll play him at this price on lineups where I'm punting the TE position.

San Francisco Defense $4400

If they were a bit cheaper I could see playing this squad at home against an inconsistent St. Louis defense. The Colts ($4200) seem like a safer play with Zach Mettenberger and the Titans coming to town.

St. Louis Rams

Case Keenum $6000

If I knew he was going to throw it 30+ times I would be tempted, but I think Gurley destroys on Sunday leaving little work for Keenum. He is still my favorite play out of the $6000 QBs, but I'm also interested in Ryan Mallet.

Todd Gurley $8600

The 49ers play better at home, but Gurley has a pretty good set up for a 100 yard game with at least 1 TD. He's the second most expensive running back this week, but if you are going to pay out the nose for a RB1 you could also look at DeAngelo Williams ($8200) who gets a great matchup against the Browns.

Tavon Austin $6400

He's hit or miss, but when he last saw this defense he hit for 2 TDs. That's a tall order on Sunday, but he should find enough work to warrant the price. I'd rather go with T.Y. Hilton for $6500 even though he has the ghost of Matt Hasselbeck throwing to him for at least the first series.

Kenny Britt $5400

He's got a touchdown in each of the last two games, so if you are looking for a longshot at WR3 then he could be your guy. The 49er secondary can be beat deep, which is Britt's game.

St. Louis Defense ($4600)

Other than last week in Seattle this defense has failed to score at least 10 fantasy points in their last 4 road games. Unfortunately, I don't think the 49er offense can keep the pass rush at bay and the secondary honest enough to take advantage. The Green Bay defense is $100 cheaper and should be able to keep the Vikings in check.

Have a great 2016!
