Hue Jackson to Browns could mean Jared Goff off the board at No. 2

The addition of Hue Jackson will make for some interesting draft decisions for the Cleveland Browns. Could it shake up the top of the draft board?

The Cleveland Browns have hired Hue Jackson to be their next head coach, and that has numerous ramifications. Obviously the coach search process will be impacted, but the 2016 NFL Draft could also see some implications. More specifically, Jared Goff could be well on his way to joining the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns quarterback situation this past year included Johnny Manziel, Josh McCown, and Austin Davis. It is entirely possible they already would be looking quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick. However, Jackson's interview reportedly included some discussion about the QB position. Mike Garafolo and ESPN are both reporting that Jackson wants to move on from Manziel, and the Browns are amenable to that.

The quarterback situation in the 2016 NFL Draft is all over the place. Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch are viewed by many as the top two quarterbacks on the board. Goff is getting more mock draft love for now, but who knows what the next four months will bring. It is also entirely possible the Browns will have more interest in a day two or day three quarterback, and in turn add another veteran to bridge to the future. My guess remains that the Browns go quarterback in the first round.

The 49ers plans for the No. 7 pick are hard to figure out at this point. Quarterback seems like an area of need, but who knows what the plan is with Blaine Gabbert and Colin Kaepernick. But if the 49ers decide to look for a quarterback later in the draft, an increased likelihood of a QB going number two opens the door to bumping some draft options down.
