Much like the Vatican blowing smoke to indicate a pope has been selected, the San Francisco 49ers have sent up the smoke to indicate Chip Kelly's press conference will soon be at hand! The 49ers just announced that Chip Kelly's introductory press conference will take place at 11 a.m. PT. Jed York and Trent Baalke will be on hand for the press conference. It will be streamed live at 49ers.com/live and csnbayarea.com/live.
It is safe to say this is a slightly anticipated press conference. Kelly was hired last Thursday, but the press conference was pushed off due to various scheduling conflicts. Kelly has been working on hiring his coaching staff, and Trent Baalke has likely been at the Shrine Game practices to start the week.
We'll have an open thread tomorrow, with the live stream to view this circus. I imagine there will be plenty of national media on hand. Kelly was fired from his last job after various reported issues with players, management, and ownership. There will be a few things to discuss on Wednesday.
