49ers Super Bowl 51 odds improve following Chip Kelly hiring

This is not shocking, but the 49ers odds improved a sizable amount.

The San Francisco 49ers entered the 2016 offseason coming off an absolute dumpster fire of a season. The Jim Tomsula era was a brief but huge failure, and the coach was fired shortly after the close of their Week 17 game. Two weeks later, the team hired Chip Kelly as the 19th (or 20th if we count Jim Tomsula's brief 2010 interim status) head coach in franchise history.

It should surprise nobody that it resulted in improved odds for 2016 success. Super Bowl 50 is two weeks away, but there are already early Super Bowl 51 odds. The Westgate in Las Vegas released some early odds, and prior to the Chip Kelly hiring, the 49ers were listed at 100/1. Following the hiring of Kelly, the 49ers are listed at 60/1.

The next round of odds will be released immediately after Super Bowl 50 is wrapped up. The 49ers still have long odds, but with a couple weeks of people potentially getting excited about Kelly, it will be interesting to see how those odds shape up once the 2016 NFL playoffs are complete.
