Good morning everyone. Gotta admit, it's disappointing to hear that Mike Vrabel turned down a promotion to be the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator. The whole theory about it being a family thing and him not wanting to move around makes some sense, but it's still disappointing the 49ers couldn't convince him that the job was worth taking.
Then again ... maybe I'm just that against Eric Mangini. I can't see a successful 49ers defense under Mangini at this point of his career and truthfully, I don't want a guy that high up from the previous coaching staff given just how poorly things went on that front. But you know, I tend to carry grudges so maybe I'm just freaking out for no reason, yeah? That tends to happen.
Anyway, the NFC and AFC Championships are coming up and I'm a little conflicted. I think I'm rooting for the Carolina Panthers, solely on the back of Cam Newton being an awesome dude, though I do like Larry Fitzgerald and hope he gets a Super Bowl ring. Dude needs it, right? Onto your links.
