49ers hire Colts coach Roy Anderson as defensive backs assistant

The San Francisco 49ers announced Chip Kelly's coaching staff on Wednesday, but we knew it would not be the full staff. It is the main positions, but there would be additional assistants joining the mix. And today, we have one of them.

FOX Sports NFL reporter Alex Marvez is reporting the team has hired Indianapolis Colts safeties coach Roy Anderson as a defensive backs assistant. The team announced on Wednesday that former Cleveland Browns coach Jeff Hafley would coach defensive backs. Hafley's experience is a mix of secondary overall, and safeties specifically.

One thing this does mean is Antoine Bethea will be reunited with his position coach from Indianapolis. Anderson was the Colts safeties coach from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, he spent seven years with the Baltimore Ravens.

Here is a look at Anderson's resume:

2012-2015: Indianapolis Colts - Safeties
2010-2011: Baltimore Ravens - Defensive Assistant/Secondary
2009: Baltimore Ravens - Defensive Assistant
2008: Baltimore Ravens - Coaching Assistant
2005-2007: Baltimore Ravens - Player Personnel Assistant
2004: Louisiana State - Graduate Assistant
2003: Florida State - Student Assistant
2002: Florida A&M - Graduate Assistant
