Golden Nuggets: Who knows what to expect with the 49ers?

Sunday, January 31st, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

I have to say, I'm not thrilled with the assistants that Chip Kelly has surrounded himself with. I don't think there's anything iffy going on behind the scenes like there was when Jim Harbaugh was ousted from the San Francisco 49ers. I just question the decision-making. Of course, it's hard to quantify what effects a specific assistant coach can have on a team or anything like that.

It's just not a confidence-inspiring bunch, for the most part. Then again, I was pretty confident that Jim Tomsula would be a good enough leader of men to get past some of his shortcomings when it comes to experience as a head coach. I was confident, at least early on, that the 49ers would field a semi-competitive team last season and I was as wrong about that as I was about Christian Ponder being an NFL-ready quarterback.

So let's make it official: who the heck knows what's going to happen? I legitimately have no idea what the expectations for a Chip Kelly-coached 49ers team should be, and I sure as heck don't know what I personally expect will happen.

Onto your links.
