The day finally arrived that Jed York would have to address the media and fans about the terrible 2015 season the Niners just completed. The team suffered through a 5-11 record and another head coach firing. The attendance at the stadium was less than ideal for a stadium that opened in 2014. The team was not improving all season and changes needed to be made.
Jed stated that Trent Baalke will remain the team's GM and he will be responsible for hiring the team's next head coach. While Jed expressed he was not happy with how the season played out, he is still confident that Trent can rebuild a championship roster with the help of the next coach. They are expected to have 12 draft picks in the upcoming draft to rebuild the team.
As far as the next head coach, Jed would not get into the names that the team is looking at. But, he did say that the team needs someone who can win Super Bowls. He knows the market will be very competitive this offseason for a coach, but they have a shortlist and they know they have to spend money to attract a big name coach. They are paying Jim Tomsula his remaining money from the last 3 years of his deal. This next coaching decision will more than likely make or break Trent Baalke's job.
