Fooch's update: The press conference has been pushed back an hour to noon PT
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is scheduled to conduct a press conference Wednesday afternoon at 11 a.m. PT. You can likely also watch it live at the Saints team website, and below this embedded video, I've embedded my national media Twitter list. I'll be tweeting from @NinersNation as well.
If the press conference starts on time, my guess is that Payton will not be leaving the team. It would seem odd to hold a press conference and say he is looking for other jobs. The press conference was originally scheduled for Monday, and was pushed back to today. My guess is it was so Payton could look for other options and/or the two sides could discuss his future, and figure out a solution. There are a lot of questions at this point, so it is not a simple prediction.
Whatever happens, we'll have an update once Payton speaks.
