NaVorro Bowman named 1st team All Pro

This is pretty awesome news! San Francisco 49ers inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman has been named to the Associated Press All Pro team. Bowman earned a first team nod for the fourth time in his career. He was named first team All Pro in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

This is really cool considering the comeback Bowman had to make from his devastating knee injury. He suffered the injury in January 2014, shortly after being named to his third All Pro team. I don't think people doubted he would return to the field, but to see him come back and look so good in his first year is impressive. He was not at the caliber he was before the injury, but at only 27 years of age (turning 28 in May), this is a huge first step back. It remains to be seen if he'll ever be quite back to where he was before, but clearly he has the drive to continue improving.

Bowman led the NFL in tackles, and was named to the Pro Bowl. There is no word yet on if he will play in the game, but it is just one more honor for a huge comeback. My guess is Eric Berry takes home Comeback Player of the Year, with Bowman and Carson Palmer right behind him. In any other year, Bowman or Palmer would be the winner, but Berry's comeback from cancer is hard to top. It was quite the year for comebacks!
