Joshua Garnett taking over at right guard, per Cam Inman

The 49ers are making a change to their offensive line.

The San Francisco 49ers are doing some shuffling on offense, and while Colin Kaepernick at QB is the most notable change, we are seeing one on the offensive line, as well. Cam Inman is reporting that Joshua Garnett is expected to start at right guard on Sunday when the 49ers face the Buffalo Bills.

Garnett took over at right guard on Thursday Night Football, playing the final 18 snaps in place of Andrew Tiller. He had some bad plays, but he had more good plays in my assessment. I broke down all 18 plays here.

There is no word on whether or not Andrew Tiller will replace Zane Beadles at left guard, or if he will remain in a reserve role. Pro Football Focus graded him out as the only lineman to not give up a hurry or sack against the Cardinals. They gave him a poor grade for run blocking, but most of the offensive line has struggled in that regard.

My guess is Tiller will be the reserve guard. Garnett won the Outland Trophy playing left guard, so if they were going to replace Beadles, I would think Garnett would be that choice. Instead, it looks like Garnett will join Trent Brown on the right side, and that will be that.
