49ers-Bills injury report: Jimmie Ward is the only player not practicing

We break down the notable names on the 49ers injury report.

The San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills practiced today, and each released their first practice participation report of the week. As previously discussed, Jimmie Ward sat out Wednesday’s practice, and seems unlikely to play this weekend. That likely means Rashard Robinson will start again, and Keith Reaser gets extra playing time as the first cornerback off the bench.

One big piece of news was that DeForest Buckner was officially back in a limited capacity. It does not guarantee he plays this week, but it is progress after missing all three practices last week. Of course, Vance McDonald was limited in all three practices and did not play on Thursday. McDonald was limited again on Wednesday, so his status remains up in the air.

We are slowly reaching the point in the season where the injury report is likely going to be pretty loaded each week. We see Zane Beadles and Ahmad Brooks added in as limited participants. Brooks did not get a lot of snaps in the second half of Thursday Night Football, but there also never a report of an injury. We’ll see what the rest of the week brings in practice.
