Golden Nuggets: Bring on the Bills!

Sunday, October 16th, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

The San Francisco 49ers have finally made the switch I’ve been waiting for, as Colin Kaepernick will start against the Buffalo Bills today. I don’t know if Kaepernick will play well and I don’t know if Kaepernick has any kind of real future in the league as a starter. Advocating for him has never been driven by an absolute confidence in his abilities.

More than anything, it was a plea against the dead-end road that was starting Blaine Gabbert. Everybody knew that was going nowhere, and while many think Kaepernick will be the same thing, I believe he at least has a chance to be something else. That chance is worth taking with the team sitting at 1-4 and able to restructure his contract.

The Bills are a tough team, but they’re not perfect. I like Tyrod Taylor a lot, and think he’ll give the 49ers fits. But it should be an interesting game at the very least. Go 49ers. Go Kaepernick. Onto your links.
