The San Francisco 49ers offense has struggled with consistency through five weeks, and so Chip Kelly decided to make a change at quarterback. Colin Kaepernick has been a bit shaky at times on his throws in Week 6, but he was able to find Torrey Smith for a huge 53-yard catch and run touchdown.
You can watch video below, but the big take-away was the blown coverage. Kaepernick under-threw Smith, but the Bills blew the coverage in a big way. That left Smith open for the easy catch from Kaepernick. Smith turned upfield and his speed made it impossible for the Bills to catch him. The score gave the 49ers a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter. They currently trail again, 14-10.
Here’s some video of the pass.
