The San Francisco 49ers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday, with the 49ers looking to get a much-needed win before their bye week. The Bucs are coming off their bye week, which came after a huge 17-14 road upset of the Carolina Panthers.
The line is currently sitting at two points for most sports books. You can find it as low as one point and as high as 2.5 points. We have seen some modest fluctuation, but nothing more than a half point or so.
The big question in this game is the availability of running back Doug Martin. He injured his hamstring in Week 2, and has not played since. Charles Sims replaced him in the starting lineup, but he got hurt and has been placed on injured reserve. If Martin is unable to play on Sunday, former Atlanta Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers will get the start. I don’t think Martin being available would change the line too much.
The 49ers are 5-1 against in their last six home games against the Buccaneers, and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall games against Tampa Bay. Of course, the first stat takes us back to 1994, while the second stat goes back to 2005. So, we probably should not put too much stock in them!
