The San Francisco 49ers are back at practice on Tuesday, and running back Carlos Hyde is not going to participate in full drills. The 49ers media on hand spotted him wearing a sling on his right arm, due to the shoulder injury he suffered in Week 6. You can watch some video below of Hyde walking out. The 49ers will produce their first practice participation report on Wednesday.
Hyde suffered the injury in the third quarter of the 49ers loss to the Bills this past Sunday. He returned for two plays, left for a bit, and returned for one more play before missing the fourth quarter. Offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins was asked about Hyde’s status, and said they would need to ask the training staff.
If Hyde is unable to go against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mike Davis would likely get the start. Shaun Draughn appears to have been demoted this past week from primary backup to third string. The team also has DuJuan Harris on the practice squad, and head coach Chip Kelly mentioned he could see some opportunities.
