Frank Gore climbs into Top 10 on all-time rushing leaderboard

Frank the Tank keeps climbing

The Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars squared off Sunday morning in London, and the Jaguars won a 30-27 shootout. The Colts had a chance to move into field goal position late in the game, but could not convert a 4th and 1. The Jaguars get their first win, while the Colts drop into a tie with them at 1-3.

The big news for San Francisco 49ers is that Frank Gore took a big step up the all-time rushing leaderboard. Gore rushed 16 times for 68 yards. He now has 12,293 yards. His performance moved him past Marcus Allen, Edgerrin James, and Marshall Faulk on the rushing leaderboard. He now sits at No. 10. Here is how the next few players stand on the leaderboard

9. Jim Brown: 12,312
8. Tony Dorsett: 12,739
7. Eric Dickerson: 13,259

Gore currently has 253 yards, which puts him on pace for 1,012 yards this season. If he reached that mark, he would finish the season at 13,052 yards.

Gore also added 27 receiving yards. That combined with his rushing yards gives him 15,509 total yards from scrimmage. He moved past Randy Moss for No. 14 all time. The next few ahead of him on this list:

13. Edgerrin James: 15,610
12. Tiki Barber: 15,632
11. Terrell Owens: 16,185
10. Tony Dorsett: 16,293
9. Thurman Thomas: 16,532

Gore is on pace for 1,276 total yards from scrimmage this season. If he reached that mark, he would have 16,466 total career yards from scrimmage. That would move him into the top ten all time. Not too shabby!
