The San Francisco 49ers took an early 7-0 lead on the Dallas Cowboys when Blaine Gabbert connected with Jeremy Kerley for a 33-yard touchdown. Kerley was wide open thanks to a blown coverage, but more importantly, we saw fantastic blitz pick-up by the 49ers.
Rod Marinelli is not one to blitz a ton, but he brought several blitzers on 3rd and 7. As you can see in the GIF below, Gabbert had a perfect pocket. Equally important, nobody on the Cowboys decided they should cover Kerley. Gabbert caught the Cowboys off-balance, and this was the result. TOUCHDOWN 49ERS!
