The San Francisco 49ers released their second practice participation report of Week 7, and there are some notable names on the list. Torrey Smith, Glenn Dorsey, Joshua Garnett, and Rashard Robinson were all listed as limited participants.
Smith is dealing with a back injury that appears to have occurred at or after Wednesday’s practice, as he was was not listed on the injury report. He and Colin Kaepernick showed some chemistry this past week, so his status on Friday’s final injury report will be something to watch.
Robinson is in the concussion protocol, but he is making progress. He participated in practice wearing the blue non-contact jersey. The fact that he was involved in practice at all means he moved forward one step in the protocol. If he has no concussion symptoms heading into Friday’s practice, we might see him as a full participant.
Dorsey was listed as a full participant on Wednesday’s injury report, but was downgraded to limited on Thursday. He is continuing to return from his 2015 torn ACL. He’s getting playing time, but it has been a fairly slow road back. I am still surprised the team didn’t just put him on the PUP list so he could get fully back.
There is no word on Garnett’s status for Sunday. He will likely be listed as questionable with his foot injury. If he ends up unable to go, Andrew Tiller would start in his place.
