Week 8 of the NFL season is upon us, and we kick things off with Thursday Night Football. The Tennessee Titans host the Jacksonville Jaguars in an important AFC South matchup to get the week started. NFL Network gets tonight’s game, with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms calling it.
The Titans are 3-4, while the Jaguars are 2-4. The Houston Texans lead the AFC South with a 4-3 record, so things are wide open for everybody in the division. This is huge for both teams, but especially so for Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley. If the Jaguars lose, Bradley very well could lose his job during the 10 days until their next game. There could be a lot on the line in this game.
The Titans are a 3.5-point favorite. I went with the Jaguars covering the spread, but I could see this ending up with Tennessee winning by a field goal or less. TNF games are frequently ugly, and when you add in a pair of teams with as many questions as these two have, it could get pretty ugly.
