DuJuan Harris signs with 49ers practice squad

This marks his sixth transaction in the past month.

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that they have signed running back DuJuan Harris to the practice squad. The 49ers waived him over the weekend to promote Je’Ronn Hamm to the 53-man roster. Hamm was necessary as tight end depth with Vance McDonald sidelined due to a hip injury.

Harris has had a busy month for the 49ers. He was part of final roster cuts on September 3. The team then signed him to the 53-man roster on September 5 when they placed Will Redmond on injured reserve. He was released on September 12 to sign Chris Harper to the 53-man roster for Monday Night Football. He was then re-signed on September 13 when the team waived Harper. He was released again on Saturday, and now is back.

Got all that? I can’t imagine this is the end of Harris’s transactions. The running back depth chart looks good for now, but injuries are bound to happen. My guess is we have not seen the last of Harris on the 53-man roster.
