The San Francisco 49ers face the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, which means Monday brought with it the first practice participation report of the week. The team held a walkthrough, so this is an estimation of each player’s status if they had gone through a formal practice.
DeForest Buckner sat out practice following a a foot injury on Sunday. He was wearing a walking boot and using crutches after the game. On Monday, Jennifer Chan spotted him with the boot but no crutches. Odds of him playing on Thursday seem pretty slim.
Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley went down with an ankle injury on Sunday. He has been the 49ers leading receiver through the first four games. There has been no update on him, so we’ll have to wait and see what the ankle injury means.
Some good news on the Jimmie Ward front. The cornerback strained his quadricep in Week 3, and sat out Week 4 after not practicing all week. Matt Barrows spotted him walking without a limp. I would not be surprised, however, if he sat out again given the short week.
