The Arizona Cardinals released their first practice participation report of the week, and quarterback Carson Palmer did not participate. That is not surprising, as he is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol. He suffered a concussion on Sunday, and has to get through the process between now and Thursday if he is going to play against the 49ers.
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was more optimistic on Monday, according to beat writer Darren Urban, and thinks there is a chance Palmer could play. My guess is that is primarily gamesmanship on the part of Arians. If Palmer starts over Drew Stanton this Thursday, I’ll be surprised.
The Cardinals re-signed running back Kerwynn Williams. He has spent time with the Cardinals, and was a training camp cut. Chris Johnson is dealing with a groin injury, and this would suggest Johnson will not be available on Thursday.
