The San Francisco 49ers play their Week 5 game Thursday evening, but their scouts will be plenty busy this weekend. There are some big college matchups this weekend, and the 49ers will have scouts attending at least one of them, according to NFL.com college football writer Chase Goodbread.
The team was scheduled to attend LSU-Florida, but that game has been postponed due to Hurricane Matthew. However, the 49ers will have at least one scout in attendance at Clemson-Boston College. The big name this game is of course Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson. The 49ers could be in a position to grab Watson next April, but we remain a long way from the final draft order, and which quarterbacks are where on draft boards.
Clemson has quite a few big prospects playing, including tight end Jordan Leggett, and wide receivers Mike Williams, and Artavis Scott. For Boston College, Goodbread includes safety John Johnson, defensive end Harold Landry, and linebacker Connor Strachan.
