Josh McCown might have forgot he briefly played for the San Francisco 49ers

If the Dolphins get to be included, don’t the 49ers?

NFL quarterback Josh McCown has an extensive resume across the NFL. Over the course of his 15 year career, he has appeared in games for the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns.

A couple days ago, he tweeted out this picture of his daughter and six of her friends wearing jerseys for six of McCown’s teams (two Bears jerseys).

The two missing would appear to be the Cardinals and Panthers. However, that would leave him one short of teams he was apart of in the NFL. On August 17, 2011, the 49ers signed Josh McCown to a one-year contract. He was released on September 3, 2011 as part of final roster cuts. His one appearance was in the preseason finale, where he was 4-of-4 for 51 yards.

McCown did not play in a regular season game with the 49ers, but he also never played in a preseason game with the Dolpins. They signed him to a two-year deal in the 2008 offseason, and then traded him to the Panthers late in training camp. If that counts for a jersey, shouldn’t the 49ers? And yes, this is what we’re left with on a quiet Sunday with no 49ers football.
