Welcome back for another week of college football. Week 11 is upon us, which means time is quickly running out for the national title picture, and for draft prospects to impress teams. This weekend’s inter-ranked matchups include No. 4 Washington hosting No. 20 USC, and No. 25 Arkansas hosting No. 24 LSU. We have the full schedule below.
The big matchup for San Francisco 49ers fans, however, features No. 2 Clemson hosting Pittsburgh. DeShaun Watson is among the quarterbacks that could be battling for a high draft position. The 49ers have a quarterback need, and while we don’t know if they are interesting in Watson, he would likely at least be on their radar.
Here is a look at Pittsburgh and Clemson prospects, followed by a full TV schedule.
Pittsburgh vs. No. 2 Clemson
Game Time: 12:30 P.M.
Date: Saturday, November 12
Location: Memorial Stadium, Clemson, South Carolina
TV: ABC
Spread: Clemson -20.5
Clemson prospects to watch:
Deshaun Watson | QB | No. 4 | Junior | 6’2” | 210 lbs
Scouting Report: Watson showcases many impressive traits including accuracy on the run and elusiveness in and outside the pocket. His athleticism allows him to escape closing pressure and make a precise throw while rolling out to his left or right. He has a quick delivery and tosses the rock with likeable touch. But while all these things are NFL teams covet, Watson comes with some negatives that may leave organizations wary about selecting this dual-threat quarterback in the first round. His size will be the first thing questioned. At 6-foot-2 and just 210-pounds, Watson’s durability in the NFL could be an issue. He’s already had problems staying on the field at Clemson, and the hits at the next level are only getting more vicious. Another negative on no. 4 is his inability to read to defenses. Too many instances on film you will see the defense be loaded to one side of the field and you won’t see Watson recognize, resulting in a busted play.
Mike Williams | WR | No. 7 | Redshirt Junior | 6’3” | 225 lbs
Scouting Report: Williams is a lengthy receiver with the ability to stretch the field or take an underneath reception the distance. He sports excellent size and can climb the ladder and reel in catches over the top. Williams shows great burst off the line of scrimmage and is shifty with the ball in his hands. However, Williams is still a somewhat inexperienced route runner. He only runs four different patterns, digs, slants, outs and go routes. He also had a devastating neck injury that caused him to miss a good majority of the 2015 season.
Other Clemson players to watch: (CB) Cordea Tankersley, (RB) Wayne Gallman, (WR) Artavis Scott, (DT) Carlos Watkins, (TE) Jordan Legget, (OG) Tyron Crowder
Pittsburgh prospects to watch:
Ejuan Price | OLB | No. 5 | Redshirt Senior | 6’0” | 250 lbs
Scouting Report: Price has a ton to like about him, including burst and bend. He sports an exceptionally explosive get-off and is super flexible on the edge. No. 5’s blend of speed and strength in his first-step allows him to knife through gaps and reach the backfield time after time. He utilizes his hands and aggressiveness at the point of attack and successfully fighting through would-be blockers. While his lack of size is obviously a negative, he is constant thorn in the side of offenses.
Other Pittsburgh players to watch: (OG) Dorian Johnson, (OT) Adam Bisnowaty, (RB) James Conner, (FS) Reggie Mitchell, (FB) Jaymar Parrish, (OLB) Bam Bradley, (WR) Dontez Ford
