With the news that the 49ers playoff hopes are mathematically squashed, the media has taken the hint and entered the bittery familiar (pre-2011) pre-off-season cycle. While the injury reports and such remain, the analysis articles have largely begun to drift the way of offseason dealings, and overwhelmingly so. Of the major articles dated 11/30/2016, it seems like the vast majority dealt with one facet or other regarding the off-season, be it roster quality, upcoming contracts, coaching turnover, or simply identifying what went wrong in 2016, and how 2017 might be different.
With the ending of the regular season of college football on the horizon, soon we will have the luxury of slipping into the luxurious and endless droning of the talking-head prognosticators. Until then, we get to fret endlessly about the injury report and the Seahawks picking up every player we cut.
