Golden Nuggets: Front Office Changes

The San Francisco 49ers dropped their 12th straight game this season dropping their record to 1-12. This time, they lost in overtime to the 3-9 New York Jets after having a 17-3 lead heading into the 2nd half. They would not score another point in the 2nd half while the Jets scored 20 straight points in the 2nd half and overtime.

The stars for both teams came from the running backs. Carlos Hyde had a monster game with 193 yards on 17 carries. He did not score a rushing touchdown, but did have a receiving touchdown on his only catch of the game. The Jets Bilal Powel ran for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns. His 2nd was the game winning TD in overtime. The 49ers ran for 248 yards and the Jets ran for 188 yards.

On Monday, there were conflicting reports about possible changes coming to the 49ers front office. One report came out saying that Dr. John and Denise York would remove their son Jed from running the 49ers football operations and they would hire someone to run the football operations, perhaps Mike Shanahan. Another report said that nothing would change in how the organization is being run. These rumors are likely to continue until the offseason since the 49ers are known to like media leaks. 49ers fans can only hope that Jed is removed from leading the football organization. Having a guy experienced in football running the organization would be a step in the right direction.
