Welcome back for my Week 15 picks against the spread. Fade accordingly following another impressive 1-4 performance last week. After spending all of 2015 at or near the top 25, I am right near the bottom this year. I am currently 22-45-3, and only four people below me are still even submitting picks.
The San Francisco 49ers head on the road to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15, coming off an ugly collapse in a 23-17 loss to the New York Jets. I am still amazed the Jets got things going with Bryce Petty at quarterback, but what are you gonna do?
I decided this week to pick against the 49ers in the SuperContest. They are currently around a 13-point underdog, and my line for the game is 13.5 points. Double digit spreads are not ideal for betting the favorite, but I think the 49ers established pattern would suggest a Falcons cover. As I mentioned in my predictions earlier today, I could see the 49ers jumping out to an early lead, starting to fade in the second quarter, and then collapsing in the second half. I think they end up short of the cover, but maybe they surprise me against the Falcons prolific offense.
For the third straight season, I am back for the LVH SuperContest. SB Nation's partners over at Odds Shark are sponsoring my entry again. The contest requires selecting 5 games each week and picking them against the spread. This year's contest is expected to have over 1,800 participants, which is a new record for the SuperContest. SB Nation is represented by myself and Matt Ufford, and there are folks from all over the blogosphere involved. Everybody picks their own five games and there will be a running leaderboard HERE.
