Did all of you good folks enjoy the Saturday football? Me neither. I was too busy thinking about a world without Jed York in charge of the San Francisco 49ers, and it sure was a lovely image. It’s one that we’ll never see at this rate, because I don’t see Denise and John York being very hands on at this stage. It’s very hard to step back in once you have stepped out.
Eddie DeBartolo did some talking about big changes but I just don’t see it. Yeah, Trent Baalke could wind up going but at this point, I think Jed is poison to an effective, well-managed and accountable organization. It will not get better while he is in charge.
With that happy message delivered, let’s look ahead to what’s in store for today: the Atlanta Falcons, around 400 passing yards and three touchdowns for Matt Ryan and yet another loss. So at least there is some stability there and things are right on track for a top drag pick. Now if only those damn Cleveland Browns would win a game or two, the 49ers would be in business.
