Golden Nuggets: Blow it all up

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Monday, December 18th 2016

I have been a long proponent of keeping San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly on staff for a least another year just to see if we can see any improvement from this dismal roster. I’ve said firing the third coach in just as many years sends a terrible message to the league and will limit the organizations chances in getting a quality suitor that can take this franchise over and get it, at the very least, mediocre.

Well, I’d like to say forget all that. Blow it all up. Remove Jed York, remove Trent Baalke, remove Kelly, remove everyone that has had a hand in this awful, awful showing of a football game I saw today.

There’s only so much defending I can do. That 49ers team from top to bottom was not only an awful product, it had terrible playcalling, atrocious grasping of fundamentals (aren’t you supposed to learn tackling in like, 3rd grade?) and no hustle whatsoever. That looked like an expansion league team. I can’t fathom how you can keep Chip Kelly in power after this season. It just seems more detrimental than anything else. I’ve been the strongest advocate for keeping Kelly, merely for the bad look firing him would net the organization, but this team he has made is embarrassing. With or without Baalke’s roster. The team needs to just start anew, remove everything from the owners, to the Baalke regime to the coaching staff, and, bring in an outside GM and his own head coach.

Of course, what am I saying. We’ll probably see few changes. Jed York will remain in power (as a recent tweet suggests) remove his scapegoats (Baalke, maybe Kelly now) and we can have another season where the 49ers are the laughing stock of the league.

I guess it could be worse. We could be the Browns and run the table in reverse. I know no one is in a good mood, so I’ll just get everyone their links and be done.

So much for the idea of CEO Jed York losing control over 49ers (Biderman)
