We have reached the final week of Thursday Night Football. All 16 games in Week 17 are on Sunday, and so this week, we get the TNF finale. The New York Giants travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles with a chance to clinch a playoff berth on national TV. The game kicks off at 5:25 p.m. PT, and is airing on NBC, NFL Network. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth will be calling the game from the booth, and Heather Cox will serve as the sideline reporter. More importantly, if you’re not near a TV, you can view a live online stream at SB Nation.
The Giants are 10-4, and lead the wild card race by two games. If they beat the Eagles, they clinch the No. 5 seed. They then have to wait and see what happens with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. If the Cowboys beat the Detroit Lions, the Giants are locked in at No. 5. If the Cowboys lose, the Giants can clinch the NFC East with a win and a Cowboys Week 17 loss in Philadelphia. This is all unlikely, but crazier things have happened.
The Giants are a 2.5-point favorite, and a lot of money is coming in on New York. This is not surprising. The Eagles are collapsing after opening the season with three straight wins. They have lost five straight losses, including a tight one to the Baltimore Ravens. The Eagles scored a touchdown with four seconds left, but failed on a two-point conversion to lose 27-26. TNF is always an intriguing matchup, and while the Giants are clearly better, I think we see an Eagles outright upset tonight.
