With the grand total of players being designated injured reserve up to 18 (including Ian Williams settlement) for the San Francisco 49ers, there will be some new faces on the field today in Los Angeles. There have been roster signings as well as promotions from the practice squad going on throughout the week. Additions to the roster include LB Wynton McManis, OL Andrew Gardner, LB Carl Bradford, TE Jim Dray and WR DeAndre Smelter all of whom are active to face the Rams.
Here are your inactives for week 15:
- QB Blaine Gabbert
- RB Mike Davis
- CB Dontae Johnson
- C Marcus Martin
- T Joe Staley
- DL Glenn Dorsey
- LB Tank Carradine
With both Quinton Patton and Torrey Smith recently added to IR, 49ers Faithful might get their first good look at Smelter which many have been clamoring for.
The defensive lineup has a different look to it today. Last week the 49ers were very thin at the inside linebacker spot especially with Gerald Hodges inactive and Nick Bellore leaving the game due to injury early in the game. This week they are heavier on the inside with the addition of ILBs Bradford and McManis and lighter outside with Carradine inactive.
The offensive line remains in flux with Martin out. Zane Beadles could work in at center or it could be Alex Balducci who is active this week after being inactive in Atlanta.
