2017 NFL Draft order: 49ers lose chance at No. 1 for now, nearly locked in at No. 2

We break down what Week 16 meant for 2017 NFL Draft implications, and what to look for in Week 17.

The San Francisco 49ers finally snapped their franchise-record losing streak, ending it at 13 games in a 22-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams. In snapping the streak, they also cost themselves a shot at the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns upset the San Diego Chargers Saturday morning, and the 49ers then followed that up with their own win. The Browns are now 1-14, while the 49ers are 2-13.

The one bit of good news was that the Jacksonville Jaguars won their game. They beat the Tennessee Titans to improve to 3-12 on the season. The Jaguars could lose next week and the 49ers could win, knotting them both up at 3-13. The Bears are also 3-12, and traveling to face Minnesota, so we could be looking at 3-13 cross the board. If that happens, the first tiebreaker is the strength of schedule. Any ties in SOS are then broken by coin flip. Here is how the top four picks currently sit:

1. Cleveland Browns: 1-14, .552
2. San Francisco 49ers: 2-13, .502
3. Chicago Bears: 3-12, .519
4. Jacksonville Jaguars: 3-12, .530

Here is how Week 17 looks for the top four teams. The Seahawks are still playing for a potential first round bye, but if the Falcons win next Sunday morning at home against the Saints, the Seahawks might have nothing to play for beyond the 3 vs. 4 seed. Maybe they rest players in that case?

Browns: @ Pittsburgh (9-5)
49ers: vs. Seattle (9-5-1)
Bears: @ Minnesota (7-8)
Jaguars: vs. Indianapolis (7-8)
