The San Francisco 49ers staged an entertaining comeback on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams, winning the game with a touchdown and two-point conversion with 31 seconds left in the fourth quarter. It cost the team what was probably their last shot at the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but I’ll give the 49ers credit for not giving up and for providing a fun close to the game.
The two-point conversion ended up No. 8 on the SportsCenter Top 10 plays of the day. Personally, I think it should have been higher strictly because of the fact that it prevented overtime in that game. When the 49ers were driving down, and set up at the 10 in the closing seconds, my only wish was that if they did score, they go for two. At the time I would have preferred they not convert it, but just go for it. There was zero reason for the 49ers to play for overtime with the extra point.
And Chip Kelly granted me at least that Christmas wish. So huzzah for that. It might count as a lump of coal for some, but it’s better than an empty stocking, I suppose!
And with that, how is everybody’s Christmas going? Well, everybody that celebrates the holiday. Any quality presents? For those that don’t celebrate, how goes the Sunday? I’m in New Orleans for the week. Today, we’re going on a walking tour of voodoo stuff, then grabbing lunch in the French Quarter, along with beignets. We’ve got dinner plans tonight and then we’re catching some music at a place called Preservation Hall. Should be fun!
Happy holidays to all!
Congrats to @Kaepernick7 and the #49ers whose 2 point conversion from #SFvsLA was #8 in @SportsCenter #SCtop10 pic.twitter.com/gwS4DI6Yar
