Golden Nuggets: Such bittersweet feelings

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Monday, December 26th 2016

I hope everyone had a great Christmas or Festivus or whatever it is you are doing with yourselves or your families. I got to travel down to Southern Idaho after a fiasco with cancelled flights, airports and airliners (not fun). The south side of the state has no wifi, no cell phone service and is out in the middle of nowhere.

And it was surprisingly awesome.

I’m back in Boise, Idaho now and things are winding down. Christmas for me is a bit hectic with my family(s) so I’m far from finished with it. To everyone, I hope you had a great holiday.

The drive to Southern Idaho was interesting, as I got to sit and watch the entire 49ers game on my phone before the service went ka-plooey. That was the most bittersweet feeling I think I ever had. Glad to see the 49ers win, sort of strange knowing that it jeopardized their draft stock. As I said, it’s like the Cleveland Browns gave the 49ers the 1st round pick as a Christmas present and the 49ers went to return it almost instantly.

Then of course the win came with Carlos Hyde going on IR. Ugh. The 49ers might be able to make a football team with the length of that list now.

I do think that win was good for the team though, and even if it’s the end of the season, it’s something to build on for next year. At least I’m going to tell myself that. I’m gonna get right to the links. Given that it’s Christmas Day, there isn’t much. Enjoy yourselves and your families. Happy Festivus.
