Golden Nuggets: How will 49ers handle Matt Barkley?

Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

The San Francisco 49ers will play the Chicago Bears this weekend and honestly, I’m a little worried about the matchup. The Bears are a bad team, but there was something about Matt Barkley’s first start in Chicago’s last game that reminded me of the boom-or-bust play of Jay Cutler.

Chicago’s offense will look like a trainwreck one second and then look amazing the next. That’s just how they operate, whether Cutler or Barkley is starting at quarterback. I took a deep dive into Barkley’s first start for SB Nation earlier in the week though, so be sure to check that out linked below on top of that.

Whatever the case, I’m not exactly sure what I’m expecting or hope for from the 49ers at this point in the season. I think this whole thing is gonna blow up sooner rather than later and even good play from many young players isn’t that important.

Onto your links for the day, folks.
