Frank Gore moves past Tony Dorsett on NFL all time rushing list

Another week, another historical milestone for former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore. The Indianapolis Colts are facing the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, and Gore just passed Tony Dorsett on the all-time rushing leaderboard.

Gore entered the game with 12,710 rushing yards, trailing Tony Dorsett by 29 yards. Gore grinded his way to 23 yards, and then broke off a 19-yard run to put him past Dorsett. Gore followed that with a two-yard loss, and currently has 12,750 yards.

Next up on the all-time rushing leaderboard is Eric Dickerson, who has 13,259 yards. Gore needs 510 more yards to move past Dickerson. With four games remaining after this MNF game, it is unlikely Gore will get that far. But, Gore will be able to build on his numbers and set himself up to do some big things in 2017. After Dickerson, Gore could reach Jerome Bettis (13,662) and LaDanian Tomlinson (13,684) to climb into fifth place all time. Curtis Martin would be next up at No. 4 with 14,101 yards.

Congrats to Frank on his big milestone!
