The San Francisco 49ers entered Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears as a gambling favorite. They had opened as 2.5-point underdogs, but over the course of the week, the line dropped and eventually the 49ers were 2.5 point favorites at a lot of sportsbooks. It marked the first time the 49ers were favored in a game this season.
Don’t tell Pernell McPhee that. The Bears outside linebacker offered up this frank assessment of Chicago’s win over the 49ers.
“S***. Teams like that, we’re supposed to beat them. Ain’t no secret.” -- Pernell McPhee on dominating the 49ers

Considering how bad the 49ers are, it’s not exactly surprising to hear something like this from a competitor. Of course, given the Bears injury and suspension losses, it’s not like they have a lot of room to talk. In reality, it’s just a player from one crappy team talking smack about another crappy team. Given how this season has gone, that sounds about right.
