The NFL wrapped up Week 14, and we have an updated draft order for you. The New York Jets lost badly to the Indianapolis Colts, and with Ryan Fitzpatrick getting benched, their charge for a better draft pick is likely only going to improve.
With the loss, the Jets dropped to 3-9, and are tied with the Chicago Bears. We continue to use Scott Carasik’s awesome work updating strength of schedule. Based on full season schedules, the Jets and Bears have identical strength of schedule numbers. The numbers will change over the final four weeks, but if they are tied in SOS and record when the season ends, a coin flip will determine the difference.
The 49ers remain at the No. 2 spot following their loss to the Bears. They are a game ahead of the 2-10 Jacksonville Jaguars, and a game behind the winless Cleveland Browns. The 49ers host the Jets next week, and it is their most (maybe only?) winnable game remaining on the schedule.
The Jets are a train wreck, but I thought the Bears were a train wreck as well. This week, the Jets will be coming west on a short week following an embarrassing loss on Monday Night Football. Is there any reason to think they’ll win other than, “the 49ers stink?” I think we see San Francisco actually manage a win, but we clearly can’t put anything past the 49ers.
