NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears

The San Francisco 49ers very bad loss to the Chicago Bears gave them a big victory in the upcoming NFL draft. Chicago now has 3 wins for the season which the 49ers are unlikely to match. That leaves the Browns, 49ers and Jaguars with the worst records in the NFL. If the season were to end today, the 49ers would be drafting #2. With a quarter of the season left to play, the 49ers will be looking for the Browns to win a game to secure the #1 pick in the NFL draft.

Colin Kaepernick had a game to forget. In snow-filled Chicago, he threw only threw 5 passes and had just 1 completion for 4 yards before being lifted for Blaine Gabbert in the 4th quarter. The offense could not muster anything other than Carlos Hyde runs. He ran for 92 yards, but the team could only muster 6 points which all came in the 2nd quarter. Chicago outscored the 49ers 19-0 in the 2nd half in what has become a running theme for the 49ers this season.

Another theme in the 49ers season is the success opposing RBs have had against the 49ers defense. Jordan Howard rushed for 117 yards and had 3 touchdowns. The 49ers next take on the Jets at Levi’s Stadium and the Jets will be looking to continue the running back trend. The Jets are coming off a beatdown by the Colts on Monday night football.
