The San Francisco 49ers were back at practice on Tuesday, and while we won’t have a full practice participation report until Wednesday’s practice, there are is one detail of note.
Matt Barrows tweeted that running back Shaun Draughn wore a non-contact jersey during practice. He also tweeted that left tackle Joe Staley seemed to be getting a veteran’s day off, but otherwise everybody else was practicing. Chris Biderman tweeted that outside linebacker Aaron Lynch was still looking noticeably gimpy on his ankle.
Draughn has emerged as a decent pass catching option for the 49ers in recent weeks. He had seen his playing time cut down to just special teams work, but the last few weeks he has seen more work on offense. He was held without a catch last week, but had five rushes for 20 yards. The previous two weeks, he had nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. DuJuan Harris is still getting work as well, while Mike Davis has been inactive four straight weeks.
Lynch continues to deal with his high ankle sprain. If he remains gimpy and is unable to play this weekend, it would be six games plus the 49ers bye since we suffered the injury. High ankle sprains can be lengthy issues, but I am a little surprised they would not have him just work on his rehab to get the ankle back closer to 100 percent. In the meantime, we get a little more Eli Harold and Tank Carradine this weekend.
