Good morning 49ers fans! Super Bowl week is officially upon us. Both teams arrived in the South Bay Sunday afternoon, and begin their week of on-site preparations. The formal media day is Monday evening, but each team will be meeting with the media all week long at their team hotels. We'll continue to include Super Bowl-specific content in the Nuggets, but we will obviously still be focusing on 49ers news.
One interesting Super Bowl write-up was about the much discussed topic of Peyton Manning considering the 49ers. Manning acknowledged talking to Trent Baalke back in 2012. The team sort of played around it after the fact, but it was obviously a thing. The 49ers found success without Manning, going to the Super Bowl the following year, but it would have been intriguing to see what Manning to the 49ers might have meant for Jim Harbaugh's future with the team.
