Good morning! Bet you didn't think you'd wake up to that headline. Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Josh Morgan accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun. He has since been charged with misdemeanor reckless use of a firearm. TMZ is reporting the wounds were not life threatening, and he should be OK.
Insert Plaxico Burress jokes. It is worth noting that Burress had an expired Florida license and no Florida license when he accidentally shot himself. He was subsequently charged with criminal possession of a handgun. He was sentenced to two years in prison, plus two years of supervised release. He got out after 20 months. For Morgan, his misdemeanor carries a maximum of 12 months in jail, and/or a fine of up to $2,500. Whoops.
