The most popular sport in America? Football. The second most popular sport? Waiting for football to start.
With that said, good morning everybody! We have a long few months ahead of us with no football on the TV. After this season, I feel like maybe 16 games for the NFL is just perfect and I see no reason to extend the season any further. I'm not necessarly burnt out on football, but it just felt like a good time for the offseason to start and for the Sundays to clear up. I really did enjoy Super Bowl 50, but I also felt like I was watching a normal Sunday game and not the epic championship it was. Part of this is because the San Francisco 49ers were not in it, but I also think it was just because everywhere I looked it was football, football, football.
But who am I to complain? Football is awesome! I do wonder though if the league extends the season if there would be burnouts with the audience at that point. The funny thing is, the season is over and I can't wait for the next one, see who we draft, what the 53 man roster will be, and how Chip Kelly's offense translates to this team. Lot of optimism this year, which I'm sure many didn't have last year.
