2016 NFL mock draft database: What happens if Jared Goff is there?

The San Francisco 49ers hold the seventh pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and there are going to be a whole lot of options available. There is talent on both sides of the ball, and of course, there is always the option to trade up or down. It is certainly different from picking down in the bottom third of the draft.

I updated the 2016 NN mock draft database, and there was a distinct change this time around. Cal quarterback Jared Goff became a much more prominent option, now matching Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell among our 20 mock drafts. There's also a Carson Wentz pick (via trade up) and a Paxton Lynch pick, so we've got nine quarterbacks. Ronnie Stanley shows up twice, and then Myles Jack and Noah Spence each make an appearance.

I remain convinced the 49ers will not go quarterback in the first round, but if Jared Goff slips to No. 7, what then happens? Would that increase the likelihood of a trade down? Or do the 49ers pull the trigger on an early quarterback? Whether or not the team still has Colin Kaepernick on the roster, a quarterback is not out of the realm of the possible that high, and I think happens no matter what somewhere else if not No. 7.

This all could depend in part on if anybody comes calling for the pick as well, but how do you see it playing out?
