Golden Nuggets: Will Levi's Stadium be Affected by New Mayor?

Monday, February 22, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Fresh off a successful Super Bowl 50 hosting gig, Levi's Stadium issues crop up once again. With the surprise resignation of Santa Clara's mayor Jamie Matthews after the Super Bowl, the city council has unanimously voted in council member Lisa Gillmor to take the vacant mayoralty seat. Now the reason this is significant is because Gillmor has been a rather vocal voice against the 49ers lately especially with "unfulfilled promises" made by the team to the communities surrounding Levi's Stadium. This may or may not be an issue going forward, but it is something to take note of in case there are any future issues in dealings between the team and the City of Santa Clara.
